Benchmark Calculation Methodology
How FPS Calculator Pro algorithms process hardware metrics, resolution scaling, CPU single-thread throughput, and VRAM memory limits.
1. Empirical GPU Performance Scaling
Our GPU rendering potential is calculated relative to real-world baseline benchmarks. We scale raw 3D graphics scores using driver saturation exponents to accurately reflect modern DirectX 12 and Vulkan API driver overheads.
2. CPU Single-Thread Throughput & Memory Bandwidth
Gaming framerates depend heavily on single-thread CPU performance. Our engine calculates the maximum throughput cap for each CPU, taking into account RAM speed (MHz) and memory channel configuration (Dual-Channel vs Single-Channel).
3. Resolution & DLSS / FSR / XeSS Upscaling
Resolution multipliers scale rendering workload across 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K, and 5K. When upscaling modes (DLSS, FSR, XeSS) or Frame Generation are enabled, internal rendering resolution is dynamically adjusted with hardware architecture ray tracing weights.
4. Accuracy Confidence Ratings & Labels
Every benchmark output on FPS Calculator Pro displays a confidence level:
- HIGH CONFIDENCE: Backed by extensive community benchmark submissions and verified empirical hardware data.
- MEDIUM CONFIDENCE: Mathematical model estimation with standard baseline variance (+/- 5-8%).
- ESTIMATED FPS: Baseline algorithmic calculation prior to community submission verification.
